I'm going to pick up this Factory 66 Norinco 56s today and eventually restore it when I find a matching Chinese wood set (or may use one off of a debanned Mak90 I have and swap out furniture).  Anyways, what on earth is the fixed triangle skeleton stock that is on it?  I'm not familiar with it.  It isn't the type that requires that the stock tang be removed, it's still there so I will be able to restore it.

Thanks,
Earl

It's a stock that was made by First Sons Enterprises (FSE) many years ago. They don't require the tang to be removed, as evident by your last photo. They seem to sell fairly quickly when offered on the secondary market.

Thanks, was curious.  I'm probably going to switch it out for the Chinese wood I have on a Mak to make it more correct.  Just wanted to know what that stock was though.  Earl
