I've just stripped a set of old MAK furniture, and I've noticed it has a gray tint. I always thought Chu wood was blonde in color. Is a gray tint normal?
Thanks in advance!

I believe you are correct, when sanded, it looks slightly grayish-blond.

Maybe it needs a touch up with some steel wool or sandpaper, then you can stain it with Bullseye Amber Shellaq for the yellow look.

Then melt it off shooting it.

The shellac looks great, but doesn't seem to hold up on that soft Chinese wood.
