Heres My how to on fitting Tapco's saiga forend on your AMD with little modification. They fit so good, its almost like they were supposed to be on there.

First of all, you have to drive the rear gas block pin out and replace it with a longer one. I made mine from some drill bit shank that was the right size. The pin that you make has to be about an inch long.

Then you have to shave off the sling loop on the hanguard retainer.

The Last modification you have to do is to drill a hole in your receiver for the mounting bolt.

Then you just place the back of the forend in and rotate it up. Then slide it back so that the extended pin in the gas block slides into the grooves in the block in the handguard. Then just screw in the mounting bolt that comes with the handguard and your done.

It will suprise you how well it fits and how solid it feels. The original handguard retainer helps with the stoutness. In my opinion it looks better on an amd than it does on the saiga. The front of the forend matches the gas block angle very well.
