I have been looking at getting an Arsenal SLR 107CR for a few years now and have decided that I should get one before they get any harder to find. I wanted an AK in either 5.45 x 39 or 7.62 x 39, had a side folding stock, and the combination gas block / front sight.
I would like to have the barrel cut and recrowned per the DIY thread above and have a flash hider pinned and welded to bring it 16".

Is the SLR 107CR still imported or will I have to look for a used one ? If I get a used one is there anything that I should pay special attention too or look for?

Not imported anymore Price is rising quickly.  Most are north of 1200 now.  I was going to get one but ended up getting a sam7sf for about the same price

Nothing special to look for other than anything on a regular AK.  Magwell, sights etc.

I have a SLR107CR I bought used and did the SBR DIY cut and crown job. The only thing to look for is make sure the sights and front sight block are straight. I absolutely love this gun as an SBR!

I was dubious about the AK104/105 /CR series for a long time and preferred the fullsize as my go to, but after getting an AK105 of my own I have been extremely happy with it. It's a great rifle and very handy to shoot. I have been really impressed


Grab one while you can, as stated the future is always uncertain with Arsenals.

I also have a 107CR that I want cut the barrel down in order to pin/weld a 4 piece flash hider. I was looking on Kvar, but the Bulgarian 4 piece flash hider they have in stock looks too short. I swear I've seen a longer one which will give you the 16.1 inches. Any ideas where to look?  

EDIT: The 107CR on the left looks like the longer muzzle device I had seen.
