[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What is the opinion of the Arsenal SLR 107?

Found one in a shop with plum stock.
The price was $1000 or $1100, but it only had a 10 rd mag.
Sights and everything looked straight.
Anyway, are they worth it?

The price is right and they only ship with the 10 round mag. it is a great rifle every bit as good as the Russian Saiga. What you don't know is the SLR 107 supply is drying up because some government is buying them for the Syria conflict. You decide, here is a link.

That is a good price. My first AK was the 107, I picked up some Polish mags and I have zero issues with it. I am going to leave it as is for the time being and may pick up another to leave at the ranch. Shoots good, 100yd metal target, 8", hit it every shot. I throw it in the back of my Gator while running fence lines, just in case

Yes, if you get a good one, you are set. Arsenal can make excellent rifles. My SLR 107 convinced me to trade a SA TRP Operator for a SAM7SF, and I do not regret it.

Problem is, the good Arsenals will spoil you for anything else.

I guess that depends on what you consider to be a problem. I have seen a lot of them with very badly canted sights and gas blocks and the finish they use is a joke. That being said if you either ins pet one in person first or buy from atlantic or copper custom you should be good to go.

I can see why people say that, it's annoying that you can't fold the stock with a mount mounted to the rail.

Just bought one on Saturday. Paid around $1050 with taxes. Fit and finish was great and I did not see any issues with the sights. Ordered a case of Golden Tiger and 15 surplus Hungarian magazines from SGAmmo.com. Can't wait to shoot it.

I have a newer one (purchased last year) and I've had zero issues. I know people had problems with canted sights back in the day, but mine is great. The finish I have on mine is good and it's parked underneath. Only 1000 rounds through mine so far and no hiccups.
