Will it work?

No. The svds stock is made for a 5.5mm hinge pin, and AK100 series 6 degree rear trunnion.

It also folds to the right, not the left.

There are some that are modified to a 5.5mm trunnion.  I have one for my saiga 12 030 clone.

here is one with the trunnion included.

here is just the stock.

If anyone is interested in the stock, be careful about the weld attaching the tubes of the stock to the latch.  My s12 slipped from my hand before I could dremel the weld flush so it smashed the top trunnion rivet.  This could be just my particular stock though.  Also the sling swivel can scratch your finish as it rests against the receiver when folded.  The stock is great otherwise fixing the weld.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing that.

For reference here is an actual SVDS folder compared to the SVDS style AK stock. The AK version uses a 5.5mm folder and folds to the left, the actual SVDS folds to the right and uses something like an 8mm pin.

AK style on top, SVDS on bottom

Here is an SGL31 with the AK SVDS folder. Heavy but balances the rifle well and great for optics.

Another interesting note is that tx-zen's stock is an older style of the svds stock.  If you look at the stock Legion is carrying it is a different latch and body 'tubes.'  To me, the newer style looks a little closer to an original svds.

The one on legions website also has a rubber butt pad.  If you look at it in hand, you can see that the butt pad has a slight contour for right handed shooters.  I wish I had a rifle that it could fit it on as it would be really great.  Better than the shotgun.

Great comparison photos Zen.  Stocks made of Rareium and Ubtanium.
