Hey all, long time lurker. Recently finished my NoDak Spud 2 AK74.

Century Arms NDS-2 built on a Bulgarian parts kit. 5,000 rounds through it and I love it. I've put about a year of trial and error into it as to what I wanted on it. When I got it, the trigger pin walked like crazy, there was a bit of rust on the entry to the barrel, and the sight post was canted. I've rectified these problems as well as have my friend grind a bolt catch into the safety. Last week I Krylon'd it for its new home in Arizona. Looking forward to knocking some of it off next weekend! This latest incarnation has the following, from back to front.

VLTOR Mil-Spec AK Buffer Tube
Magpul CTR Stock + LaRue RISR
Magpul AK Pistol Grip
Tromix Charging Handle
Circle 10 SOMAK Scout Rail/Integrated Rear Sight
Aimpoint T-1 Clone
Zenit B10 Handguard
Mission First Tactical RSG (x2 CR123's in the battery compartment)
Zenit Goose B-2 Flashlight Mount
Zenit 2P Klesch weapon light

That's just sexy, I mean seriously sexy, and its totally not my thing either.  I think it's a COC violation honestly, that's just pornography.

Nice. This reminds me of a couple of Afghan commando groups I ran in to in Afghanistan. They had 7.62 Bakelite mags with designs carved out of the side of th mag body. Pretty neat. Too bad no pictures.

My 7.62 Vepr. only thing that's changed since the pics is the Bonesteel foam cheek pad, and the Surefire G2X.

Being a fan of the classic AK look I was always hesitant to go the non-traditional tactical route. A few years ago I picked up a SAR-2 that had been pretty well abused, after cleaning it up and scrubbing all the rust off of it I figured I would give it new life as a non-traditional tactical rifle. It's been through a few different configurations as I tried new things, no matter how many changes it went through though, it's always been my favorite rifle, every time I got to the range it's the first one I grab and the one I shoot them most. I recently made some more changes to it and I think I've finally found the configuration I like the best.

First set up, RD M4 adapter, MI full rail and US Palm micro dot cover, not bad, but I found it front heavy.

Switched the MI rail for Magpul MOE hand guards, put a Primary Arms 30mm red dot in a PK-01V mount, still a little heavy.

Current configuration, Romanian wire folder, ultimak with Primary Arms micro and Zenitco B10m. So far this is my favorite, lightweight, compact and just fun to shoot.

I'm really digging that one in the middle.  Is that a front sight gas block combo, or did you move the front sight back?  Also, how do you like that muzzle brake/flash hider?

Love that style. Im guessing tape stencils? or something else?
I just bought my first ak and am looking to do something similar vs my usual ar paint job.

Yep I just added different width and length strips of painters tape between coats of krylon. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
