Thank you.

Bulgarians used it too. There's some conjecture that they got their plum furniture from the Russians.

Here's my Bulgarian with plum furniture. Started out with a mix of parked and painted parts with black poly furniture. I refinished it with Duracoat and plum:

Yes, Derek's nice CUR-2 is something you don't see often.  And still with the original, upturned charging handle.  Seems like that part is always mysteriously swapped out for a straight one in all the auctions and sale ads nowadays... That was what my first '74 was, which I bought in the late 90's when they where the only thing available in 5.45x39.  I still have it and will never sell it.

A dash of wine and brown rit.

Looks more violet in sunlight.

Try on a sacrificial fde mag or mag cover to determine the right mix of colors.

I built this one on a 7.62X39  Nodak receiver I had laying around. Mags lock up tight and it functions flawlessly.

Yep, straight swap. They both use 4.5mm pins.

I think Kvar offers that pistol grip in Plum now. It would match nice with your Plum handguard. I picked one up in OD.

The draco is the most fun for pure noise making and enjoyment. The 11.5 AR is my go to rifle, I wish my can would get out of NFA jail.

Yes it is!

I bought 2 in FDE.

Used some wine, coco brown, and scarlet rit dye to dye them. I bought two as its trial and error.

the one that turned out not so plum got painted, while round two yielded results I wanted.

Pmags or pmag clips are great test platforms for testing dye mixtures. Wine rit dye will get you very close by itself, a VERY small amount of brown made it a perfect match.

ETA: FDE must be the base color to dye
