It shouldn't but you may need to get used it. Some people are very sensitive to the AK and how optics and rails sit on them but I've found that it's not difficult to get accustomed to.

i'm a lefty and had an midwest side rail and it didn't cause me any problems. if i were to do it again i'd get an rs mount.

I have one. The QD lock doesn't hang down as low as the picture in the above post suggests. I don't think it would be an issue for a lefty.

RS all the way. MI is bulkier and far less modular. Had both. Sent MI back because picatinny was out if speck. Had wobble with a factory T1 mount. Didn't like.
