Palmetto is dumping the old AK mags for $7/each, so I'm wondering if Magpul has stopped production of these all-polymer AK mags.  

Perhaps Palmetto bought out Magpul's old stock?

My understanding from everything they've said is that they will continue to offer both the MOE and the M3 mags.

I haven't heard anything, but thanks for the update. I just got 10 more mags after I told the wife I was only buying one thing during all these sales.

The Specs are completely different (and better IMO) on the MOE version so they are 2 diff mags every way!

The M3 is much broader at the top and if you have an in-spec magwell, it can take some working to get it to fit.

I'm sure they AK's with sloppy magwells in mind when making it wider (being so many people have "Out of Spec" magwells VS "Tight/In Spec" Magwells) so if you have a sloppy magwell, the M3 should fit rock solid!!!

For what it's worth Palmetto State also had Metalform 9mm AR mags that normally go for $30 to $40 on sale for $12, so I would not take this as any indication that these PMAGS are going away.

I hadn't heard the M3s were wider at the top, I hope the MOEs don't change dimension as they fit great unmodified in my WASR, Draco & PTR-32.

Too bad Magpul didn't put metal feedlips in their new mags like Bulgarian waffle mags.  At over $25.00 I will stick with what I have.

Well dang...been buying the MOE mags locally for $13-$17/ea.  I think I'm moving on to metal now though.

How many M3s do you have? I have several and the M3 is identical to the MOE, are not completely different, and are not 2 different mags in every way.

The M3 is not "much" broader at the top. All the M3s I have fit tight and have slight scruffing on the shoulder just behind the bottleneck in my WASR and fit just perfect in my Sig 556Xi R. The M3s don't take some working to get them to fit. A couple insert/reinsert s have made mine perfect fits in my WASR.

I just measured the two mags for width just below the feed lips.

Magpul MOE: 1.020"

Magpul M3: 1.028"

The only visual differences between the two versions are:

#1 - The MOE has a 3-ribbed slope just below the rear locking lug vs. a solid slope on the M3.

#2 - The MOE doesn't have the partial witness holes on the belly of the magazine like the M3 has.

#3 - The obvious identification moldings between the two versions.

So your claims are unfounded.

I forgot. The M3 has an orange follower and floor plate tab vs. red on the MOE.

Plus I've got the M3 for less than $22 each.

Where at for that price?

Both Brownells and DSG Arms have them for $25.60, plus a discount.

Magpul just announced a new MOE 10 Rd mag so it would appear that they are keeping the MOE AK mags.
