Definitely overpaid, but at least I finally got a Bosnian Fleur-de-lis magazine.

A cool and unusual magazine, and you've just gotta love that flat leaf spring.

Wow...  I remember when those were mixed in with magazine lots and none of the distributors even bothered to sort them out.

Damn! That is a pretty good looking mag compared to most that I've seen in pics.

Can't wait for the Russian Slab Sides to reach that crazy price so I can sell some.

Not really concerned that I overpaid. Haven't seen one for sale in about a year.

I tend to overpay for hard to find things that I want.

Yikes! Last several I saw were going for about $150 last year. I balked at that price but I secretly regret not getting one.

Nothing is overpriced if you think it's worth what you paid for it!

Is it supposed to go with a certain AK? Why would you spend that much on a magazine? Serious question.

It's one of the collectors magazines. They were made for a couple years in Bosnia during the Yugoslavia war as a local war expedient. To give soldiers a bit of pride on the battlefield when they were either using them or saw them. It's a cultural symbol for Bosnia.

They were VERY rare prior to the Sportsmans Guide mag buy in 2006. Around 2008, they were selling for around $75. Then around 2012/2013, they were selling for $100-$150.

They are still rare and uncommon today though, and sought after by many people, so they command a premium, usually in the $200-$250 range in the past year, but have been increasing in price when they become available. One just sold back in April for $310, with two people lined up if the deal fell through.

I would have been more happy to spend $250-$300, but I'm not kicking myself over a little more.

It's like the old question:

"How much is that painting worth?"

GrimesSU, I understand your decision to pay what you did for that magazine.  I really want a Type 63 20rd 'Star' magazine for my collection, but the two posted for sale on other forums this past week were both north of $300.  I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on one even at that high of a price if another comes up for sale in the next month or two.

I saw  that.  For about 10 minutes I thought about putting my star mag up for sale.   But then I thought what will it be worth next year?

Aw, man, I had one of those type 63 mags years ago and used it a lot as a range mag. I neve knew it was anything special. This was before anyone had ever heard of the Hungarian tankers...

I won't tell y'all what I paid for it or what I sold it for... You would cry...
