In reply to those that are looking for 500 round lots or less, I wanted to work off full case orders first, then once the dust settles open up the 100 and 500 round options, but i need to keep the workflow as smooth as possible for the warehouse crew initially as full case order are so much faster to pack and ship and 500 and 100 round lots slow things down considerably. Look for those smaller lots to be available on Sunday night or Monday night

1k cases already show sold out, that was fast, as expected. Glad to hear smaller lots will be available but I got my order in for a case last night. Thanks to SGA, if memory serves this is the same price GT was going for last year. I picked up 500 rounds of BB lacquered a week ago so of course GT shows up now. But I paid same price/round for GT as I did for BB and the BB was a pretty good deal as well.

Why is everyone so excited by golden tiger? Doesn't fmj have poor terminal performance?
I'm not that familiar with 7.62 x 39 ballistics. |

Golden tiger is some of the best 7.62x39.

I have four rifles in 7.62x39, with the most accurate rifle at 100 yards GT groups better than any other steel cased ammo. With shipping the case I just ordered was 26 cents/round, that's cheap. So for me the best performing ammo at that price is a no brainier for me.

I picked up half a case. This will be my first experience with golden tiger. I'll most likely put half into mags and keep them off to the side so I have some quality ammo when SHTF.

They're good about only listing as much as they can prep & ship in a reasonable time frame so no one is waiting a week for it to hit the shipper. And it takes time for them to break up cases. In the past the GT has been put out in stages and this may not be the last. Although this last round sold out quicker than I ever remember. If you're on the 'notify me' list make sure you're on for every quantity available, I had put myself on the notify me list for 500 rnd lots but found out thru this thread that the 1k lots were going up first so I grabbed one of those last Sat., didn't get the email for 500s til Monday. Also check SGAs threads under the Industry forum, they're good about posting availability there... |
