I have only used 7n6 but unfortunately I only have 2.5 cases left...

so, which would you 5.45 owners prefer?

GT would be considered the best of commercial, both in 5.45 and 7.62.

Of course, truthfully any selection will do. Save your 7n6 for "serious" situations or as investment.

Golden Tiger. Ballistics of the 59gr should be a lot closer to 7n6 than the much heavier 69gr.

Any 60 gr. FMJ has work flawlessly for me, accurate too. Haven't tried the 55gr. or 69 gr fodder but from what I read it works just fine. GT 5.45 has been unavaliable for at least 2 years and I think I read from SG ammo their supplier didn't have it high on it's list of run ammo. I hope to see it return to market as it is excellent ammo.

I remember reading SGammo has been trying to get the importer to order some GT 5.45. Back a few years ago they brought a bunch in and it sat, so they don't want to repeat that. But with no more 7n6, I'd say we'll see GT inside a year.

It sold out in about a week and a half.

Hope that was enough interest for the importer to get a larger shipment next time.

I ordered about 600 rds of WPA 55 gr hollow point.  It appears that it's the same stuff that Barnaul made/makes.  Apparently, it's supposed to be among the best for accuracy.  Something maybe about the 5.56-like bullet shape--not so long like 7N6 and fatter, stubbier like a 5.56.  I've run about 150 rds thus far through my Bulgy '74 with no issues, and appears to be accurate.

Has anyone else had good success with the 55 gr variety?

This has been my experience in using it on my 105.  It is definitely tighter at both 50 and 100 yards than the 60 gr SB/WPA/WMC and the 59 gr GT.

Does it have a different point of impact than the 60gr ammo ?

I think so.  It's a bit lighter than the 60 gr stuff, so should impact higher.
