I just picked up a case of UCW 7.62x39 for $219 at SGAmmo. It says this stuff is great ammo but does not carry the Wolf Performance guarantee. Have any of you guys shot this stuff and if so how was the quality? I hope I don't blow up my AK! Here is a link to the stuff: http://www.sgammo.com/product/wolf-performance-ammunition/1000-round-case-762x39-fmj-124-grain-steel-case-russian-old-stoc
Thanks for any and all input!

Skag my MAK loves/most accurate with Ulyanovsk and Sam says that's what this UCW is.  I bought some too, I haven't gotten to do a side by side comparison at the range with the older stuff.  The box is a little different but the rounds look the same.

Uly is a great ammo manufacturer, and their ammo typically uses mil-spec 8m2 or 8m3 bullets.

Sorry didn't see the question.  Yes Sam and Lala are the owners/operators of SG Ammo.  SG is one of the best companies I've dealt with and very quick with orders.

Are we sure this stuff isn't corrosive?  I am not experienced with corrosive ammo, but I see little patches of orange showing up in my new M10.

Better do a "nail test" to be sure.

I assume it is because the description says it is non-corrosive. Can anyone confirm this?

That doesnt explain the difference between the 2 types of bullets......

I would like to know the difference myself, as I am completely clueless....

Thank you for the video. Now I know the difference. :)

The 8m3 round in the video doesn't look like a true boat tail, it looks to have less gr. weight so it will carry for less distance in the gel.

Ulyanovsk Cartridge Works/UCW?  Shouldn't be.  Been shooting that stuff since the Nineties, never had any that was corrosive.

Apparently in more recent times some Klimovsk manufactured ammo that was labeled as non-corrosive turned out to be corrosive.

EDIT: Did they actually change the name to Ulyanovsk Cartridge Works?  I always just called it Ulyanovsk Machinery Plant.

The only stuff I have labeled as Cartridge Works are boxes of old Tula from the Nineties, marked as being manufactured at Tula Cartridge Works.
