I have 3 galil recievers coming to reweld, and only 2 builds to do. The third one I am pondering doing a 7.62x39 build.

Disclaimer, I've never done this so just my thoughts and opinion.  I would think if you have the ability to properly reweld a receiver then converting one to 7.62x39 should be easy.  Get a 7.62x39 galil barrel, mod the bolt or replace with AK bolt, may have to tweak feed ramp. A Norinco Hunter would probably be a good reference piece and cheap enough you could make your money back on.

I saw a Galil on Balashnikov that was made with interchangeable calibers, one was 7.62x39. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, I think the mags fit pretty good.
