Not really any better that the naturally forming aluminum oxide.

What are you planning to do?  Touch-up, or complete item?

I am doing a build. Might as well call it the Hand-Washer 2017 OCD Deluxe. I just noticed a very small flaw in the anodized finish leaving exposed aluminum. It would not be so bad if it was in a place where I could keep an eye on it. I am not worried about looks; this AR will be used. It is the idea of corrosion that I can not see and therefor can not deal with that bothers me. I am planning to use aeroshell 33ms in that area. However, my imagination still runs wild. I should probably go make sure the stove is turned off and all the doors are locked...

I considered that. However, I would like to avoid having to put my upper in the oven if possible. It does sound like good stuff though.

Don't bother.

Aluminum Black for external touch-up of aluminum is okay.  However, on anodizing it can actually cause corrosion if not completely neutralized.  If you can't monitor it, I wouldn't do it.

Besides, aluminum is pretty good about corrosion, it's the steel that gets sacrificed.

Maybe I'll just clean it  with isopropyl alcohol, heat it with a  blow dryer, and dab some Aluma-Hyde II on it with a toothpick.

If you clean it up,  just paint it. You can't see it.  7075 alloy aluminum is really pretty good resisting corrosion.

What kind of paint would you recommend?  Is it something meant for aluminum that can withstand high temperatures?
