Whatever's cheapest.  I try to watch the newspaper flyers and check when I'm in auto parts stores and stock-up when it's on sale.

thanks...I just don't want to get one that causes any issues with other parts/plastics.  I figured there would be some go to brands but you are probably right.

Same, just use whatever is on sale. The non chlorinated does not damage any of the plastics I have.

If you want to play it safe, CRC Brakleen in the green can is good.

Been using that lately as well- much cheaper than what I can get at auto parts stores.  Works the same

CRC for me.  NAPA has them on sale now and then but it's so cheap to begin with I don't wait for it.

My gun cleaning life is soooo much easier since I discovered brake cleaner!
I use the least expensive brand at O'Reillys.

Clean, spray rinse, lube, done.

Quick reminder for those new to aerosol cleaning sprays.....   PROTECT your eyes, and use outside.  Failure to do so can lead to damaged eyes and death by wife.

The chlorinated brake cleaner can have negative effects on stainless and plastics.

I use the Walmart stuff as well, and stock up when on sale at autozone for a $1

CRC brakleen in the green can when I need it which is usually just when prepping for painting. To degrease a BCG Dawn and hot water in the sink work well.

I keep enough lube on my guns 90% of the carbon fouling just wipes off with a blue shop towel so no need to use brake cleaner (mostly acetone IIRC) for basic cleaning.

Be sure not to spray your Krylon'd guns with it.

I have one of those small parts washers from Harbor Freight and fill it with mineral spirits.  Works great.

Brake cleaners works well too.  I use the cheap non-chlorinated from Walmart.

I've been using AutoZone brand brake parts cleaner for 10+ years on motorcycle parts.
More recently I started using it on gun parts also.
The ONLY thing I have found it to be a problem with is some small rubber parts on motorcycle brake calipers.
Otherwise no issues with anything motorcycle or gun related.
Leaves zero residue, dries fast and I can get it on my skin and it doesn't bother me.
Autozone also has their rewards program and sometimes the stuff is on sale.
I've tried LOTS of different brands and this is my favorite by a long shot.
