For process of elimination:
1. Make sure the barrel nut torqued properly, and that it is properly indexed. If the barrel nut is loose, then the barrel will shift, causing lack of grouping.
2. Check to make sure the scope is mounted correctly and tight. What type of scope mount, and what did you torque the screws to? A loose mount will allow the scope to shift, resulting in bad grouping. If using scope rings, did you gauge the for proper alignment, as if they are off then this could be stressing the scope, resulting in lack of grouping.
3. Try another optic or iron sights on it, and see what it will do. If the scope is bad, then it will not hold groups. Iron sights are solid, so try putting some on and shooting it just to eliminate the possibility of a bad or stressed scope.
4. What type of ammunition are you using? Have you tried different ammunition, if so what, and what were the results?
