I have an aac barrel that came with the 51 tooth type hider. Not sure what type of a can I may get. Can I just tighten it down for now without using rock set so I can remove it easily later, in case I don't use it or get a different brand?

If you don't plan for a can, you can just screw it on and torque it down. No need for Rocksett.
If you end up with an AAC can, just unscrew it, put the rocksett on and torque it back down. Easy.
