I picked up a Brownell lower the other day and wasn't sure which direction to go with it.  So after looking at all the rifles I have built, I realized that I had plenty of AR pistols, SBR's, 16" rifles, and a MK-12 clone.  What I didn't have was a M16A4 20" style rifle, so I decided to change that.  With funds being the only limiting factor, I'm try to stay as close as reasonably possible to the M16A4 rifle.

I have ordered the items below.

Brownell M16A1 lower receiver
PSA A2 lower build kit

Franklen Armory BFS gen III trigger
FN 15 20" upper receiver with front sight A post
Knights Armament M5 RAS hand guard
Matech M16 USGI backup iron sight
Nikon P-223 3-9x40 scope (substitution for now)
American Defense Recon Q.D. mount

Sadly the optic I'd like to get will have to wait (ACOG 4x32) until I can save up more gun money.

I'll be sure and add pictures and updates as parts come in.  Once I'm able to get it all together, I'll finish it with a range review.

For now, here's the lower

Received the PSA A2 lower receiver kit today

Went ahead and installed it (minus trigger)

Installed a ERGO grip that I had laying around

Mocked the upper with the lower.  I'm still waiting on the trigger to arrive.

I added the AAC Blackout flash hider (so I can run suppressed).

I just built one that looks similar to that, only I opted for the actual 2 piece standard hand guard, I like it handles real nice like my rifles I carried in the service and I used an standard birdcage muzzle device, then put a removable carry handle on it for use with the F marked front sight.

I was always issued an M4, but always secretly liked the look/function of the M16A4.  I removed both the standard rails and bird cage muzzle device for obvious reasons, but wouldn't of mind keeping them on if I was going for the M16A3 look.

The first rifle I was issued was a M16A1, then the A2's came in and, I never did make it to the A3-A4 series and never even saw an M4, my last 7 years was spent cooped up inside walls looking at computer screens!

The scope (nikon 3-9x40 P223) and mount (AD Recon) came in today.

Looks good on there, but unfortunately the BUIS was a hair too tall so I had to remove it.

Still waiting on the trigger, but attached the silencer and a full mag to get an idea of weight.  To be honest, it wasn't anything to complain about.  I will put it on the scales when the trigger comes in.  Length wise (with silencer), it's a tall girl.  Then again this isn't meant for CQB.

Still waiting on the BFS iii trigger, I went ahead and installed a Daniel Defense standard trigger until I get the other one in.  I'll try and get it up to the range soon.

I ordered at Franklin Armory BFS 3, but it hasn't arrived yet.  I also have a Larue trigger ordered, but I'm undecided which one I want to go with.  I guess which ever gets here first, haha!

right now it just has a mil-spec trigger (parts bin)
