Ordered a new gas tube and in the sealed package was a standard roll pin and a slightly larger solid pin. What would the solid pin be for?

Is it a pinable gas block?

The pin is only slighter larger than the roll pin not big enough to pin the block on. Maybe it just got packed by mistake.

Did the plug on the gas block side come out? Is that even possible?

No the plug is still in the tube, but I think that is what it is. It looks like the right size.
