Looking for a particular slick side upper

[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Looking for a particular slick side upper

I've seen them around, but can't find any now.
It's a slick side upper with no brass deflector, but it does have a port cover. I can't remember who made them and I can find one using google or the site...maybe my search-fu is fu...

Anyone seen them or know who makes them?

If you're looking for forged a 9mm will work if you can drill the gas tube hole. Here's an example...

Ahhhh! Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for! Building 2 super simple and light AR's for the kids...it's a bit more than I would have liked to spend on uppers, but they fit the bill perfectly!

I think the CMT is more along the lines of what I need.

If you decide a dust cover isn't needed Palmetto has slick sides for $60. I have one on the way so can't comment on quality/fitment yet.

ETA: FYI that extra deflector on the 9mm should come off but I'm not positive. It looks like a full port cover to me.

Thanks for the info. I'll look at the PSA upper - I'm not 100% stuck on the dust cover. I have personally never needed a FA and I see them as another complexity that's not needed on a civvy AR that MAY be used in a defensive capacity. The AR will probably sit in a closet somewhere for years without seeing any action, so I thought a dust cover may come in handy. Seeing as the AR's action is closed - I'm not too sure it would make a difference, unless you store it with the bolt locked back? In that case, the PSA upper would work great - but damn, that CMT upper is sexy...

You can purchase just the upper without the 9mm brass deflector. The receiver uses a standard 5.56 dust cover.
