I bought an Anderson FCG from Primary Arms.
It appears the J pin (?) is partially blocking the pin hole on the hammer and I can't get hammer pin through it.
Does that make sense?

How to I remedy this?

It should have some resistance. It will rest inside the pins groove when completely inserted.

Is yours protruding more than normal where as the pin can not push it aside?

I mean, I can hit it harder with a mallet but...

ETA: installed a ALG trigger into a mega lower 5 minutes before attempting this and it was absolute night and day differece. I suppose that's what I get at 3x the price

Can you insert a small punch to see if the hook moves at all ?

Do you have a slave pin from an old set of KNS Pins that you can use ?

lol, Geisselle and Anderson are rarely used in the same sentence.

Most pins have a very slight taper on them so that should help push the J hook out of the way.  Just smack it with a hammer and tape (or a hard plastic hammer which I prefer to use).

Slave pin as mentioned above. You can make one yourself. Insert taper first, this will depress the j hook. Follow behind with the hammer pin. A light tap with a hammer should allow the hammer pin to slide past the j hook and into position.

Reading is fundamental
Anderson FCG in a $39 AIM anderson lower.

I installed an ALG FCG into a AIM Mega lower just before that in the same sitting.
