Friend of mine wants to do a 20 inch upper with an M-4 style stock . What buffer do I want ? The goal is reliability of course .

I built my dad a 20" upper with carbine stock lower. Used standard carbine buffer and it's been reliable.

I am running a CS flatwire spring with a H3 buffer on a 20” barrel build.
That might be too heavy for some builds, but I have not found anything a H2 buffer would not work in.

I have a Vltor A5 kit on my 20 inch. Works flawlessly.
