After bead blasting what do you put on the barrel to keep it from rusting?

A protective finish.

Either a spray-on material or a chemical conversion coating.  Are you wanting to use a plain, unprocessed steel barrel surface?  If so, it is going to rust someday.  Bare steel and the atmosphere don't do well together.

If you're looking for a coating, Cerakote would your the best choice, IMO. Use 120 AO instead of glass beads. Glass beads will just dent the barrel, not etch it like AO.
