I wanted to build a somewhat light weight AR and this is what i ended up with weighing in at 5.lb 12.1oz, it possibly could have been lighter with a carbon fiber handguard and such but maybe next time. I bought my first part 09/03/2011 and finished it up 11/07/2011
I havent shot it yet, hopefully in a couple weeks if i can find the time.  Ive misplaced the USB cable for my camera so i used my cell phone so there is poor picture  quality.

UPPER:
BCM 14.5'' 1x7 LW mid-length barrel
Troy TRX Extreme 9 handguard
YHM 5c2 FH
Vltor low pro gasblock
Spikes mid-length Melonited gas tube
Rainer Arms reciever " going to replace with rainer's reciever with out forward assist when available"
Spikes BCG
BCM Gunnfighter CH
A.R.M.S. BUIS #71 series " i got the rear sight free with something i ordered a while back so i bought a front sight to match"

LOWER:
DTI lower
RRA LPK
Magpul trigger guard in O.D.
Magpul K grip in O.D.
Pmag in O.D.
Magpul buffer kit with MOE stock
Noveske QD end plate
ICW QD micro mount-n-slot for the handguard and buttstock

Just bought this lil tool and made things alot easyer

.458 SOCOM the one standing up in the middle with the scope, I use it for deer hunting and the occasional coyote passing by.  Expensive to shoot tho, so it sets in the safe till gun season.

Back when i had FDE on it

Where did you attach the ground clamp when sealing the pin?

I put it on the outside of the barrel extension where it slides into the receiver.

Well the Rainier Arms uppers without F/A finnally became available and i order two of them, one to put on this build and the other for who knows what

It wasnt a big difference in weight, it was 5. lbs 12.1 oz  now without forward assist it weights in at 5. lbs 9.1 oz

no forward assist? very nice! i just checked out the upper receiver on rainier arms and it says these upper receivers save a little over an ounce. how did you save 3oz.? did you change your rifle set up a bit?
