Average was taken from 10 groups of 5 fired consecutively with cool down time between each group. |

Just test fit my first build on an un- machined 80% lower. $493 all in including the optic with tax and shipping not counting tools or magazines. I'm about 70% through with the machining of my first lower. Hope to finish it after work today. Nothing fancy, mostly bargain shopping for parts the last 4 months to build it at that price.

The joy of getting my wife into shooting with build pics...
It started with an M&P 15-22. I build the black one as a mock dissy. Convinced her to go to the range with me one time so she could shoot it. By the time we got home from Ben Avery she'd named my rifle "Celia" and told me if I wanted another one, I was welcome to build it. 
After she shot the .22 for about a year, she started wanting to move into 5.56. I told her we could, but it was on the condition she build a lower. She rooted through my box of lowers, decided she liked the DPMS one. I handed her that and a DPMS LPK and sat her down while I build up an Anderson lower with a CMMG LPK. I picked up dissy uppers with heavy SS barrels from PSA during a Christmas sale so that everything was familiar to her (and because I wanted a mock dissy myself). MOE furniture, VLTOR buffer tubes. She's got a Spikes H-1 in hers. Mine is a generic carbine buffer. BCM Gunfighter charging handles. She built part of her lower and I finished some of the more "detent pin launchy" parts for her along with the stock and the pistol grip. 
We just finished carbines tonight. MrsCheShirt built on a Spikes Honey Badger lower with a PSA MOE parts kit. Now that she'd built one, she felt much more comfortable and did this one on her own. LPK has nickle plated trigger parts. Bolts on both are NiB coated from AIM. LWRC soopah compact stocks/tubes/buffers. PSA carbine uppers. Generic charging handles for now. In case anyone was wondering, yes, hers on the left does have a Russian Kobra on it. She was thinking about an EoTech for this build but wanted to try a holographic sight and I had this in the closet. Mine is pretty much the same parts-wise, just an Anderson reciever and it will probably be getting a rattlecan paint job soon. 
And so it goes. |

DBPower Red Dot, Midknightoptics BUIS Custom ejection port cover from Dustin Ellerman's Camp His Way. I don't recall the bolt Mfg at the moment but will add it later. Still need a forward assist plug since 9mm doesn't use FA. Well I changed things up. I managed to get the get the MI Panels on an MLOK handguard. BCM Vertical Grip seems nice as well.
I'm going to sell the Red Dot and get something magnified. |
