I picked up the legacy body and the 3.0 head for my truck gun and threw a ds00 and a modbutton on it. Works great.

Can the pressure switch be removed? I prefer just push button tail cap.

Wire cutters I'm a little disappointed that they stopped offering tailcap only versions, but I get that most people want the remote switch version so this simplified logistics. |

$400 and not IR capable.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety

You get a good mount (Torrant ARF, I believe), which is analogous to about $40-60 aftermarket mount for a Surefire scout. You get the light itself. You get replacement O-rings. You get a quality tape switch and cap that works with it, this is equivalent to a gascap (that actually works), or a Surefire DS00 and Modbutton, which together will set you back around $150-$200. So that right there is $200-250. Then you get a light with unique and innovative features (batteryjack) that smashes everything else for output in its size class that doesn't come from China (some of that stuff is just stoopid powerful, can't lie). That's the other $150-200 in your equation. It's actually a pretty legit price. |

Their first Gen pressure switch on Rein 3.0 sucks. -wire way too stiff -wire enters the pressure switch in bottom middle Should enter on the side to avoid interfering with mounting -plastic mounting clamps are kinda meh If mounting near the light body-there isn’t enough room to get Your Allen wrench in there to tighten the screws Further-the recessed hole for the mounting nut is only on one side. So due to space constraints it may only work for your mounting on one side. -plus $40 for clicky tail cap only is robbery Pressure pad sucks and is jettisoned. |
