Best tactical light edc under $100?

Ive had sure fire lights in 6p and it was nice until I lost it. The 9p is a bit too big for me to edc

Been looking for something to replace those as EDC light

Didn't do enough research and got a thru nite tn12 and don't like ui

Want at least 1000 lumens and strobe and a super low mode

Found the Klarus XT11GT. Claiming 2000 lumens and three different ui. One that's turbo and strobe

Not quite 1,000 Lumens, but I love mine!

That or the MT10C. Essentially the same with a tail switch.

Been a fan of Thrunite for quite some time. TN12 is a great option.

Streamlight protac 1L is super affordable (just got one under $35 on eBay) and is from a reputable company

I have a TN12 and I do not like the UI nor the layout. The only redeeming features are it's reasonable cost to lumen ratio and IPX8 rating.
It's good for casual useage.

When using the tail switch, one can accidentally turn off the light by hitting the switch on the body with the other part of one's hand

Also, to get to the any light mode besides the last one used - you have to toggle through ALL the modes.

Strobe is only accessible by a long press of the body - not useful for defense situations

Hoping someone has longer term use of the Klarus they can share their experience if I should pull the trigger on the Klarus XT11GT or something else?

The SL protac 1L does not have a low enough mode - lowest it goes is 35L and I would like sub 10L in low mode

want a light that can

1) use at least a single 18650 and perhaps CR123 disposables

2) IPX8 at minimum

3) High and Strobe modes easily accessible with one click from off

4) minimum of 1,000 real Lumens

5) useable as firearm / rifle light if needed

6) can be dropped attached to a rifle and continue to function

Fenix PD35 Tac is a nice light

Just bought the Klarus the OP mentioned.  I too hate the TN12.  I'd love to hear how the Klarus is working.  Probably good, as all the online feedback seems to be very positive.

Fenix UC35. Same as PD35, but can be recharged via USB. I carry one every day on duty, it's a great light.

Olight S30R III.  1000+ lumen turbo mode, strobe, and moonlight mode.  Under $75 from Amazon with a USB charger and magnetic base.  Love mine.

I was about to suggest lighthound, but just found out it's no longer in existence.

I built a edc light with a body, head and tail cap from there for like $75 then picked up a few of the controversial rechargable batteries from
Amazon and was all in right at like $100. Awesome light with strobe and everything I need.

Don't know where to look now that lighthound isn't there. Check out candlepower forum though.

I have a Klarus XT2C and also a XT11s, which is mounted on my AR.

The XT11S sits flush to my Lantac Dragon. I now have about 1500 rounds through the rifle with this config. No problems with the light at all, even with the muzzle brake next to it. If you're looking for a strobe feature Klarus is by far the best option, and doesn't kill your wallet.

I bought the Klarus xt11gt and have been using it for about 2 months. It's an outstanding light, I highly recommend it.

I just bought a 6P host, and an XPL-Hi p60 emitter from Kaidomain in 3 mode.

Has good low mode, not sure high mode is acually 1600 lumens as advertised, but plenty bright for edc.

I was looking for a good runtime on 18650 (medium mode) more than turbo mode.

This is 5 mode version:

Have you considered having a custom light built for you? I know of quite a few people that build lights when you order them, for what you want to do. You want 1k+ actual lumens, or 2 modes, or 50 modes? You can get that from them.

Nothing against the major companies at all, they all produce extremely good products, I own a few SFs and some SLs. But, to have a reliable light built specifically for you, for under $100 w/ accessories....its really cool.

Send me a PM if you want more info where to find them

I use Streamlight pretty much exclusively anymore. My current EDC light is a Streamlight ProTac 1AAA. It's a great light for the money and doesn't take up much pocket space. Nice and bright with a high, low, and strobe setting

I have a Fenix LD12 LED flashlight and it takes 1 AA battery. Looks like that Fenix has changed the design a bit for new models. I bought mine a few years ago and I carry a few AA replacement batteries in my get home bag.

Currently PD35 TAC is my daily carry for LE. 1000 lumens, strobe, low. Side switch is defeated. High always comes on first. Regular style clicky tail allows temp activation. Wish the off time before it went back to high instead of strobe was shorter, that it had more throw, and that the color was not so purple. Fits perfectly into a powertaclights belt holster like it was made for it.
