Well, first on the inside of the Solarforce switch, there is a remote wire that runs threw a hole to the inside of the coupling, from the switch...I packed the hole, until full with jb weld, to isolate the wire, and the inside of the female end of the coupling. (I use jb weld on this part, because when you first mix it up, it is pretty runny, and even though there is steel in jb weld, it does not conduct electricity)
Then I cut the coupling off the SR tape, left most the wire on the SR.... Cut the coupling off a Solarforce tape switch, only left about 3/4 inch to an inch of wire on the coupling...spliced, soldered, and heat shrunk the 2 wires together as close to the Solarforce coupling as I could get. Then I took this epoxy called plastic welder (much thicker then jb weld, and easier to shape, yet strong as hell when dry) and covered the coupling, to 3/8 inch past the wires soldered and heat shrunk together....then let it dry over night.
Next, I shaped the new stronger coupling with my dremil, then covered with black heat shrink tubes.
That's all there is to it, not really hard, Mine have been going strong for years now. I did do a drop test on the modified tape, and it passed with flying colors....I also did a drop test... on an un modified solarforce PTS-3....it broke instantly.(ok not really a test, my AR was standing up in the kitchen, barrel propped on the counter, it slid and hit the floor)
