I know this is a newer product. It does look interesting to me...

IR and Visible laser model

Visible laser only $265-285-ish

The last picture is interesting...it is the access port for a pressure switch...it is at the 'rear' of the accessory, however...this means a tape switch/pressure pad has to run the length of the battery pack (and right past the BCG/ejection port) and then to the section of rail you want...it would seem more ergonomic to put the port in the 'front' (being the end closest to the muzzle) instead...

EOTech Link

What are the thoughts here? Videos from Shot Show 2014 say it re-zeroes to within 4MOA after removal (say for replacing batteries).

DETAILS FROM EOTECH:

The Laser Battery Cap (LBC) is a drop in replacement that fits all 512/552 EOTech Holographic Weapon Sights. Simply remove your existing battery cap and replace it with the new LBC and the lightning fast target acquisition you have come to expect from your HWS is expanded to include the versatility of an integrated visible red aiming laser.  This improved aiming capability will prove ideal for home defense or force-on-force training.

The LBC also features an integrated accessory port that allows for the use of a remote pressure switch, available for purchase separately.

Personally, I am curious how the laser effects battery life....I am hoping the red section isn't the optics new found life with the laser attached, personally.

ETA: this is 512/522 models according to their stats and website.

IMO - the laser is way too far back on the gun and shooter is likely to laze his support hand and limits your choice of mounted light.

Not feeling it.
