So i did some research online and i'm pretty sure i know what i need but wanted to double check with some of you guys to see if you did something else or have another option. After looking im pretty sure the attached link is what i need to be able to attach a bipod onto my handguard and then buy a bipod that attaches. Correct?

Yes that will work, I went a different way and bought a bipod that has a picatinny rail qd mount on it, and just have small rail sections on the bottom of the hand guard of my rifles.

That will work or you can get a small rail section and get a bipod that uses a rail attachment

Below is the Mlok version.  Magpul makes a MOE and Mlok handguards.  Make sure you know which yours is before buying attachments for it.

Magpul Mlok Polymer Rail Section

Magpul also makes aluminum Mlok rail section but the Polymer work great unless you will be renting and attaching the item often.

Thanks, does that link you provided come with the screws or not? and do you see any benefit of the picatinny vs the one i originally posted?

That rail section will come with screws to mount to an MLok hand guard slot.  To me the benefit was it is easier to take on and off and switch between different rifles.  Another benefit would be mounting it to a quad rail handguard without needing to add a bipod adapter.

I like to use a QD mount like a ADM that mounts to Picatinny rail.  I can transfer the Bipod to different rifles.  Comes in handy if you have lots of rifles and don't want to buy an bipod for them all.  I have 3 Harris SBRM bipods set up like below.
