Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Please help with Gear Sector 2 point sling

Never used a sling before and I can't figure out how this rip cord adjustment system is supposed to work.  I can pull in slack to make it tighter but it doesn't really grip the webbing and easily falls back through making it loose again.  What am I missing?

The ladder lock appears to be installed incorrectly so that the teeth dont grip the webbing
