Anybody run a proctor sling on a gun with a FSB?  Can the paracord just be looped around the fsb as the front attachment point, or is there a more desirable location?  I'm trying to achieve a lightweight sling solution for an 11.5" relatively KISS SBR build.

I have one set up like this on a spare parts beater AR. I like the minimalist design but IMO it's way too thin for regular use.

What is nonsense? My opinion that the sling is too thin? It's just that, an opinion, maybe it works for you... However, after a few hours of training, I much prefer a thicker sling such as the Blue Force Gear VCAS.

Your opinion is nonsense, and that's my opinion.  But let's not get crazy, opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.

Personally I wouldn't wrap a nylon cord around the gas block such as in the first picture.  Would be a potential melting point if you got into a rapid fire sesson.

It gave me pause at first also but the IDF has been attaching slings to FSBs for years using 550 cord and I don't see how this is any different. Admittedly, I can't say from personal experience that it won't melt as I rarely shoot this rifle since it was mostly just a way to get rid of spare parts. However, I've got a BFG universal wire loop that I can use instead if it becomes an issue.

I would use something like this in your situation. Far less likely to melt than 550 cord.
