What slings do you prefer? I am looking to purchase one soon, thanks for your input.

I use Magpul's MS3 and MS4 series of slings, although I've been looking at other options to try for my next purchases.

I use the Blue Force Gear Vickers padded slings. Well made, comfortable, and function as they are expected to.

Make your own two point sling......cost about $10......make all mine 2 point and can transition to single point

Every AR type rifle I own all rock Blue Force Gear VCAS slings, both padded and unpadded. They had a buy one get one free sale a week or two ago, subscribe to their emails, I bought two more slings just because

I have one VCAS and 5 LaRue padded slings. I love the LaRue slings.

Fake Vtac from Botach, real Vtac, standard Military, and really really long Blackhawk standard sling.

I use 1000 dnr 1 1/2 heavy nylon web i use QD swivels left side ready carry...I bought the whole spool 250 ft for $75 i make slings from that.

I have a nice tan wide 3 point sling I was issued in 2005. used it in Iraq for two deployments and once in Afghanistan. But now that I'm out I use the basic black nylon strap like you get in basic training. For casual use, I like it a lot more. Though if the SHTF I would go back to the 3 point.

Blue Force Gear VCAS. I have both the padded and unpadded, Like them both.
|
|
I use Magpul slings as 2-1 is the best option imo, and the MS3 Gen 2 is a homerun.
I also have a Proctor sling which is a dedicated 2point and I like it too, but not as diverse. |

As near as I can tell, I'm the only one on this forum that uses the redi-mag 1.2 convertible
I love 'em but I've never seen anyone ever mention them or even comment when I've posted about them here. Shrug....keeps the price down I guess. |

I combined all of the features I consider desirable in this one, and feel it's my best effort so far. It may be that you have the first version which has since been improved with a larger buckle at the rear. (For the conversion from 2 to 1 point.) Call or write and we can arrange getting you the newest one at no charge if you don't have it already. Dave |

+1 on the padded VTAC. I love yanking down on it and getting it into my body for CQM or prone zeroing. Takes a lot of play out of it.

I use Magpul MS1 slings exclusively now. I tried MS3/4 and the length was just too short, but the MS1 is MUCH longer (good). I then just add my hardware (hunter type QD for shotgun, QD swivel for AR, Mash hook for AK, and NO hardware for "old school" AR). I love how adjustable it is (as well as how easy it is to adjust) and how simple it is.

Probably not as popular as those from Magpul, BFG, Vickers, etc... But, I use an Urban ERT 2-point on all of my AR's. They are super comfortable.

For a two point carry sling, it is the Magpul MS3 converted to use QD sling attachment.
For a true shooting sling, I use the fantastic Brownell's Latigo. This is fine leather and works like a mil 1907, but without the claws. It can be set for your particular forearm to sling attachment point distance as a true shootign sling, and can be adjusted for total length to use as a carry sling or pulled up tight to the rifle by a simple pull in either direction. It is also elegant, supple and strong. I could run it all the time, but keep the Magpul nylon on the rifle when not doing precision shooting or wanting to "show off" a bit. |

BFG VCAS w/ QD swivels and IWC 2-1 triglide. Or BFG VCAS w/ QD swivel and Magpul MS1-MS4 adapter.

I have two Blue Force Gear VCAS slings, a ms4 QD, and a ms3 gen2. The gen 2 ms3 is light years ahead of the ms4 (or OG ms2/ms3) I have because the slider actually works. I think I might transition over to the ms4 gen 2 because I really like having the option of running single point or two point.

VTAC Mk2 on pretty much everything, with a LBT lightweight thrown in.
