I have a Leupold scope with a left side battery compartment for illumination, and it has a gold Leupold button.  Anyone know of a replacement that is more black ?  I suppose I could paint the button...

That is more than a cap.  Its the switch for activation and intensity setting.  I have a 3-9x VX-R Patrol.  The center gold does not bother me, but, if it did, I'd just use a little flat black enamel auto touch up paint to darken it. Be careful not to get it into the moving part of the button at the outside edges.
