Yeah, January's too long to wait. Can you get it here faster so I can try it out?

It's 1MOA. However, we made it slightly brighter than the rest of the reticle, so it doesn't appear too small unmagnified, but is nice and precise when magnified.

Here it is with a 3x magnifier:

And another teaser image of the sight on a rifle:

ETA: Fixed images. Hope you all can see them?

Noticed the delta at bottom of large circle.  Is this a holdover for longer and/or CQB distances?

That's correct. The top of the delta is 27.5MOA from center. The bottom is 37.5MOA, and the width at the bottom is 12MOA.

Yes - the delta is going to be used for CQB applications as your hold point to compensate for optic-to-bore offset at ranges 7-10 yards and in. Sam may be able to chime in on this one as I don't have specs yet, but the top of the delta may be a bit far to use as a holdover for rational distances. -RJ

Would you mind dummying that down for a dummy, or me ?

I'm excited about this sight. I was planning on buying an MRO for my newest build but I think I'll be holding off until we get more info about battery life, price, weight on the UH-1.

Hopefully the price point will allow me to use my EOtech refund money to get one.

I said earlier I'd like to see a $400 price point. If it has a battery life of a year or more I'd probably go north of $500. I'm really looking forward to this optic.

Most likely. If you zero an EOTech for around 25 yards, for instance, the bottom hashmark is bang on target at around 7 yards. Looks like Vortex is running with that and adding an actual triangle for aiming there instead of it just being the bottom hashmark. I like it.

Can't wait to see this product.   Was going to buy another Aimpoint PRO or Viper PST 1-4 but this thread has now made me wait for the Huey.   Vortex you need a tester?  Would love to drop one on my shotgun or Xbow before Wisconsin's 2016 deer season is done.   I'm only an hour N.E. of you.

This looks like it could be great.

Slight astigmatism here, and I liked how Eotech's reticle looked but with the scandal did not want to buy one.  the UH reticle looks amazing.

I would love to have another option besides the dot of an aimpoint which I dont really care for.

Yep, best feature of the Eotech, making it a triangle is better.

That being said, add me to the list of folks that don't want the USB charger feature. Can't comprehend how anyone thought that was a good idea.

How does it hurt? You don't have to use it if you don't want. Just use regular CR123As.

Is the charging port completely sealed? Can it getting damaged in any way cause issues with the optic in general or with it operating on standard CR123 batts?

Is this optic made in Wixom MI and do you have to pay patent royalties to L3 communications?

It's interesting that Eotech isn't making a peep online and now that the recall hysteria has died down your optic comes out with what looks to be l3s patented hologram system.

Not saying it's a delaminating failure waiting to happen as I am sure it has been properly redesigned lol, but it is an interesting scenario.

Eotech loses consumer confidence and moves to work with Vortex to keep some cash flow via design and or patent royalties.

Hope the optic runs as well as the rest of your HD line! The reticle shots are excellent.

Elcan is making their own Holo (obscenely expensive) sight as well.  The tech mustn't be that unique.

The charging port is waterproof. It has a cover, but it is still waterproof even without the cover. If the charging port is somehow damaged it in no way prevents you from powering the optic with a standard CR123A.

There re is no internal battery. It just has the ability to use rechargeable (LFP123A) batteries if you choose.

Excellent! Not a fan of the charging port but with that statement I'm cool with it being on the optic.

Regarding the USB port: Keep in mind most newer phones are both waterproof and and use USB. The port on my S7 is wide open and water doesn't hurt it. It's not anything new in the tech world and I'm sure Vortex has their bases covered.

What is the width of this optic compared to the Eotech EXPS3?
What is its height compared to say a Trijicon MRO?
Any way to run it with an absolute co-witness?
What is the earliest these will be available for T&E?
