Title says it all. I want my Docter sight mounted at 12 o'clock on my scope but want the whole setup to be QD, otherwise I'd go Nightforce.

Similar to if the guy in the pic below had turned his LT788 around and had it overhanging the scope rings. Will it clear?

Have you considered an LT-137 instead?  Don't have to remove your cheek from the stock.  Nestles the rds on a plane between the scope turrets.  It replaces one of the ring halves, like this below.  I eventually moved the dot to 45 degree offset mount, but if you like it up with the scope, you don't have to lift as much as with your suggested method.  The optic is a Deltapoint Pro, but the mount fits J-Point, too.
