I found an article or link somewhere on AR15.com a while back that gave height to centerline of many popular one piece rings.

Does anyone know where it is?

No, but most AR specific one piece mounts are intended to place your eye at approximately the same height as AR iron sights and the stock height, which works out to be between 1.4" and 1.5" from the top of the rail to this centerline of the scope.
