Recently purchased a LaRue QD mount for an ACOG and am wondering how far forward on the rail to mount it.
Should it be mounted as far back as possible for the best eye relief - or forward so that there's room to flip up the rear backup sight. Thanks for any opinions.

Well, since you can't use the BUIS with the ACOG mounted anyway, you should mount the ACOG where you can best achieve proper eye relief.

As far back as you can for that guy.

Remove the buis and go all the way back!

It will look weird, but with the TA 31 I would remove the buis, mount the acog as far back as possible, then remount the buis infront of the ACOG but backwards

Yup, seen that a few times. LaRue makes a mount specific for the TA31 to get it as far back as possible.

LT-681 is the model number, IIRC.

This.  Unless you shoot NTCH, then you'll probably have some eye relief issues with the rear BUIS behind the ACOG.

Mount it where you can see it good n clear. Doesn't matter if you have yours like the next guy if you can see clearly.
