First up, here's my NF 2.5-10x32mm NSX with Mil Dot reticle and Zero Stop in a LaRue LT-139 mount atop a Noveske 6.8SPC Recce VIS rife.  BUIS are Noveske-marked folding Troy front/rear.  Amazing glass!

Are you liking the Elcan?  I have been pining for one of those to replace my Leupold CQ/T for a while now.  Is it worth the money?  How is field of view and eye relief?  One thing that some people have faulted it for is the fact that all the controls are external and that it might be more subject to being knocked out of zero?  Personally I don't think it's an issue as I'm not going to war with my rifle, any thoughts?

I am a big fan of the SpecterDR, obviously so as I spent the coin for one. I have not had any POI shift issues going from 1 to 4x or vise versa. I also have not had any issues with the external adjustments either getting "bumped" or otherwise causing POA/POI issues. As I stated in another thread on the SpecterDR, right after sighting it in, the rifle ended up doing an optic first slide/fall down the side of the wall it was leaning up against. It did manage to bend the iron sites on top of the Elcan, and tear a pretty good chunk of dry wall with it. But it did not have a notable POA/POI shift. I did not get it for punching touching holes in paper, so was there some shift? Likely. But not enough for me to notice or care. Yeah, should the iron sites on top have bent? No, but I thought they looked tacky and had planned to remove them anyway. This just prompted me to get off my lazy ass and do it.

After several on/offs of the optic I have issues with the ARMS levers not clamping with enough force to prevent it from sliding on the rail. But I am on top of the list to get the updated levers when they ship from ARMS. Sucks, but not enough for me to saw the entire optic is trash. Would like to see an aftermarket mount but am not holding my breath.

To recap, I'd buy another one and plan to get one for 7.62.

Since this is a pic thread here is one that shows the A3/Elcan after 3 days at the recent Pueblo, CO Magpul class. Both functioned flawlessly.

Here is premium, well I almost got the S&B, but the USO SN-3 is terrific with the AN/PVS-22.

Had to do it after seeing the DVD!  That's my new Open Gun.  I'm going to be trying it out next weekend in a tactical rifle match. It shoots very well - here are some 5 shot groups shot at 100yds, it seems to like 73gr and 77gr Berger bullets.

Kinda similar to this from a few days ago now......using TAP 75gr. otm @ 100yds out of......

The top was the first 5 shots of the 70 total i pulled off....bottom is the last 5 shots of the 70 total.  Little bit of opening but not much.

Hertel & Ruess - Older German made  excellant glass with sniper #9 reticle. Can't find much on the company other than they made the first scopes for Weatherby back in the 50's. I understand they still make optical inspection equipment but no more scopes
