Since only the lever portion indexes on the receiver rail on the "left" side is it kosher to overlap a litte like this?

Only portion of the mount sticking out is on the right side and does not touch as far as I can tell. Maybe an "E" mount is in order?

Negative AZ-K9,  that mount is bound to be touching one side or the other of the handguard rail...not acceptable.   Pull the mount back one tooth and either move the scope forward in the rings or back the stock off one notch.

ETA - handguard

Will do, thanks.

Mark,

I know you said scope mounts, but does this also apply to the LT-110 EOtech mount?

I've seen plenty of pics where people had them stradling the rail and the upper receiver.

Mark LaRue,
I'm glad to see you on here standing behind your product and trying to help guys out. It means a lot to me and when I get myself some REAL optics and mounts, you will be at the top of my list.
Thank you,
Keith

I shoot "Nose to the charging handle".

I ordered the LaRue SPR-E mount, and I'm glad I did.  It allows me to shoot "NTCH" and get perfect eye relief with My Weaver 1-3.

Mark,  Thanks for making such a great product.

mark,

glad to contribute to your retirement fund.
i confess to owning 8 of your bottle openers -- none of which i bought by itself.

ps:
the relief with the MR/T is just perfect as shown below.

How much space is there between the rings of the SPR-E?

AZ,

Do you mind if I ask you a question about that AR10?

Would you happen to know the barrel length of it?  Also, what length of gas system is she using?

I'm having GREAT difficulty finding short midlenth-gas systemed AR10 barrels.  I think that Noveske is going to be my best bet, but I'd have to get one custom made, as their Leonidas barrels use a carbine gas system, which, of course, is incompatible with any AR10 rail system currently on the market.

Thanks,

Brad

for reference here is my NXS 3.5-15x50 on an SPR mount with a DD Lite 12.0 rail, it is mounted as far forward on the upper as possible.

i've found that with the SOPMOD on the third hole, cheek to stock, the eye relief is perfect. i could probably slide the scope forward in the mount for nose-to-charging handle cheekweld but i find it uncomfortable with this setup.

Hellbound,

That's an interesting eatery pic you have there.  So I'm wondering if you were in a hotel room, or out on the cab of your truck, or had the bipod straddling the cheeks of your lady friend's ....

Anyhow, I'm not so schooled-up on the NF reticle ... what is the line tangent to the topside of the circles for?

it was out of my apartment window. we overlook a texas roadhouse.

from the bottom line to the top line is 18" at 15x, from the bottom line to the circle is 9", and the circle itself is 9" diameter.

Ok I got a question, what about just a plain Eotech 552 ( No Lever Mount)
straddling ?

The locking screw is above the bolt cam's "box" on the upper reciever.

It's on a Noveske with a LaRue 7.0.

I was originally wondering what effect the heat from the Ring / Barrel Nut could do to the eotech plastic battery compartment.hanks
I got at least one Pic on Noveske's site of a 552 straddling in the same position I have it in

I think and hope that an EOTech straddling is OK so long as the locking bolt is on the receiver side -- that's how I have mine.

Well , actually It's NOT OK.

It is easily verified. Just take the screw out; the opposite side has a full length groove. With the screw out, slide the Eotech along the rail (  KEEPING PRESSURE ON THE NON-WINDAGE SIDE  where the groove is
,when you hit the Barrel Ring You'll know it!

Alot of people are doing thishock.gif

Thank You Mr. LaRue

My bad.  I don't have a rail that would require me to straddle the barrel nut.  I was speaking as to the effect of putting an EOTech on a rail as the SPR mount was in the original post -- regarding heat, as you asked.

Did your barrel fall off?

How about making the SPR mount without the forward projection (which would make it simpler and lighter) for monolithic uppers, since they don't have the eye relief issue because they can be placed farther forwards.
