CDNN has them for <$5 each and I prefer 20 rounders over 30 rounders.  PMags are $12+ for the 20's.

Normally, I avoid Pro Mag, but wanted to see if anyone here has had positive experiences with these.

In before trash can suggestions.

For what it's worth, I have 3x Pro-Mag 30 rounders someone gave me and they've been through about 500 rounds each. Definitely not a high-round count...and definitely not combat-ready but I think they're fine for range use.  If anything, you'll get some more practice clearing FTFs/FTEs

Thanks!  AR mags are not SKS and AK mags that magically American manufacturers can't seem to figure out!  I'm not trying to turn this into a Pro Mag bashing thread - simply curious if they got the AR right (i.e. drop free, reliable, feedlips don't sheer off, etc.).

No, they did not get them right.

D&h mags might as well be free right now, and they are all over the place, so why even contemplate promag, tapco, Blackhawk, ect. There's just no need to go there. Buts it's your money.

Maybe I wasn't clear in the OP - the cost  of 20 rounders is typically higher, and availability is slimmer than the 30's that can be had for $7 each.  I have a box or two of unopened PMag 30 rounders, but I prefer shooting 20's because it allows a lower profile.

Please elaborate on what they didn't get right - i.e. drop free, double feeding, broken lips, bolt not closing, seating too low, etc.

The Brownells & Okay are great, and I have several of each (and lots of surplus 20's) - but even on sale at $10, they are more expensive than 30's when buying in bulk.

Yes you were very clear. I too prefer 20's on the bench. Here is one link of countless links for quality 20 round magazines for dirt cheap. Promag has earned its own reputation over the years that needs no elaboration from me. So why would one assume that maybe the 20's are immune from a company known to make some of the worst products along side the other companies I mentioned above.

The only caveat with d&h is finding them in stock as most buy them in bulk . Fortunately there are many many of them. Midway puts magpul followers in them and sells them for around $9 bucks. I've bought many from 44mag.com for around $6 each, they're out of stock now. I've used the 20's and 30's in several builds over many years and highly recommend them as affordable mags.

Pro-Mag?   You might as well spend your money on a Porn-Mag.  At least the later will allow you to repeatedly shoot your load.

That extra money gets you a mag that actually works

Would you rather spend 10$ on 2 mags that dont work, or 1 mag that does?

Pro-mag is junk. Take your money and spend it on lottery tickets instead.
