Is the only difference between the 30rd and 20rd mags springs the length?

I looking for 20rd straight mag springs

$5 for a 20rd mag spring is a bit much. CDNN has cheap springs but the $9 shipping seems a bit much

Brownells has 6-pack rebuild kits that include followers and floorplates for $12.99.  They don't appear to have 20-round springs by themselves, though.  I didn't check shipping, but there might be codes for free shipping out there.

EDIT:  As for your first question... I don't know, but I'm guessing there's more to it than the length.  Were you looking at buying some 30-round springs and cutting them down to 20-round size?

I had found those at Brownells.

I have some old 20rd straight with the Al followers so I really dont need new followers or floor plates.

Yes I was looking at buying some 30rd springs for less than $2 each and cutting them down

Problem is I don't have any metal 30rd mags to compare the springs to

I just took some photos.  I'll upload them in a bit.  The short story is that the 20rd SS spring looks exactly like the 30rd SS spring, only longer.  The distance between coils appears to be identical, visually anyway.

EDIT:  Actually, they are two different colors.  The 20rd spring is silver.  The 30rd spring is gold.  Pics incoming in next posts.
