I found some magazine pics pre big "D"

most of these pics were from 2004 -2007

Fresh off the UPS Package Car, 40 BNIW Center Ind.

Converted UZI mags, I milled out close to 100 of these. They worked great
I did some for a couple of the Team Members here

I don't mean to gloat or anything, but check out the work on these 2 pics
These motherfuckers were perfect

Some more AR Mags and a couple of Beta-C's (this pic was from 2004)

Here is a 20mm can, I had a couple of these filled up, one can got legs at
a Local Machine Gun Shoot. I found out who grabbed them back in late 2008
the guy who grabbed them ahd killed himself and his widow gave the ammo can to
a friend of a friend. I never did get the mags or ammo back

On to some AK Mags, Anyone remember the AK Mag sale @ SPortsmans Guide?

I picked up a few from them every chance I could because they were really stupid cheap
The only catch was you had to clean off all the cosmoline

The good thing about having lots of AK mags back them was 7.62x39 ammo was $59.99/1000
from FAC. So you could make the loop and drive to FAC then down to SG and head home and get busy

Anyone remember Chief Thunder and the super deal on Bulgarian Waffle mags?

At the time K-Var wanted about $40.00 each for these
Chief would sell them for 10/$80.00

Some Bulgarian 40 rounders, these are a must if you had a RPK.

Here are some of the East German 5.45 Bakelite mags

I cant remember who it was that was selling these, but in the begining they were
really cheap and damn near over nite the went stupid expensive

Here are some 5.45 magazines I picked up when Ohio Rapide Fire was letting them go really cheap
IIRC it was like $3.00 per mag.
I ordered three 12 packs on the first go around, most of them the were brand new

Russian 45 round 5.45 Mags

Got Drums?

Belts are like magazines, you can never have too many

Some Beretta M9 Mags

I thought I had more pics, maybe I'll find them on another flash drive
Because I know I had more magazines than that because there are no
HK91 and M-14 mags in that group

These are Pre Big "D" pics

IF you ever want to loose something fast, faster than a boating
accident in a deep lake then the Big "D" is the answer

Sorry about the Big D disaster, dpmmn. But man, that's an impressive collection, especially when I imagine the hardware they went with.

I bet it could still get a little dangerous to go snooping around in your neighborhood.

Kinda hard to tell where the mags stop and the rug starts.

Not a "meager" collection by any standards - that's suitable enough to outfit anywhere from 1 to even 5-6 AR's, with spares to boot! Nice PMags...good chunk of change you got in 'em!

I'll post some next week once everything has arrived.

What's the best size ammo can to efficiently store AK-47 mags in?

I have some fat 50's coming for my AR mag purchase but need to find something for AK mags too.

You can store 10 AK 30 round mags in a regular .50 can with no problems at all

Pick up a 20mm can, after you load it up with loaded AK mags I forget how many it will hold but it will be close and it will take two people to pick it up afterwards

Don't know about AK mags in a 20mm ammo can...but I know what AR mags in a 20mm ammo can can do...

Loaded 20mm ammo can will fit ninety (90) USGI 30rd Aluminum AR mags:

  • 90 mags x 30 rds per mag = 2,700 rounds
  • 2700rds x 190gr/rd = 513000 grains = 73.3lbs for ammo only (M855, 62gr SS109, 5.56x45NATO)
  • 90 mags x 4oz/mag = 360 oz = 22.5 lbs for magazines only (USGI 30rd Aluminum; std baseplates)
  • 20MM Ammo Can - Approx. 21 lbs

Total Weight = 73.3 + 22.5 + 21 = 116.8 lbs

55-56 30 Round AK-47 mags fit in a 20mm can.

Won't happen for at least two years. The house is on our side for now and the way Dems are imploding, I don't see it changing any time soon. John Boehner for the win.

In addition to having lots of mags, I figure some mag whores also have some interesting or weird pieces in their ever growing collections. Here's one of mine, a "customized" 30-Round Pmag, cut down to hold 10-Rounds. It works very well, but has to be made from one of the older Pmags with the thicker magazine body ribs so the floorplate has something to slide onto. The conversion required altering the follower and spring as well.
