So to these old eyes it looked as if the Creedmore 77 TMK was the winner?

I don't care what anybody says.  That's some good shooting there boy.    You've got a good, consistent technique.  Your underpromising and overdelivering with that many rounds in a group.  Plus your barrel probably gets a bit hot.   I say well done.  Looks like you have a great shooter and you know what you're doing.

Actually...IMHO,  it was the Creedmoor .223 77gr SMK, pictured in the first photo.  Those bullets kept going in the same dang hole !

Thank you so much.  I remember going to the Creedmore Store in the 80's.  The 63rd ARCOM had an account there.

Nice shooting and thanks for the thread.

I did not realize Creedmoor loaded factory 77 and 69 TMKs.

Similar to your results, my rifle shoots my handloaded 77 SMKs slightly better than handloaded 77 TMKs at 100 yards. However at distance, the TMKs seem to be more accurate due to the ballistic and wind advantage. I've also compared the 77 TMKs to 69SMKs running at significantly higher velocity. Was not even close. At 500 yards, I was drilling an MOA target with the 77TMKs. The 69SMK were splashing all around it from wind.

I am running the same Krieger 1-7.7 barrel as you. What chamber are you using? I have the .223 Wylde in mine. If I were to do it again and stick with the 77 TMK, I would just buy the blank from Krieger and have CLE chamber it with their match chamber to have less jump.

Lennyo3034....

I was impressed by the Hornady 75gr Steel Match... ran without a hiccup and is cheap.

If someone wanted a heavy OTM SD round for cheap... I would suggest the Steel Match.

I handload most of my ammo, however like to keep high quality stuff on hand in case something pops up and I don't have enough stuff loaded. Since I'm not buying in high quantities, quality is much more important than cost. I'm going to order a box of each 77TMK and 77SMK from creedmoor and see how they do.

What chamber are you using in your barrel?

So can we get a pic of the gun that did this?
