Finally got in a case of MEN M193.  Just to note, I felt very unstable and rushed today on the firing line for some reason.  I think the ammo would shoot better if I weren't having an off day

The Gun
Steyr AUG-A1

20" barrel; 1:9 twist

1.5x optic

front sandbag rest

MEN M193 56gr

The Groups:

2.094" ES/0.556" mean radius

2.340" ES/0.727" mean radius

2.419" ES/0.758" mean radius

-------------

Avg ES: 2.284"

Avg mean radius: 0.680"
Best Group

Their 55 grain FMJ bullet has some of the most uniform bases I've seen for a bullet in this category.

My bullets were actually pulled from these boxes . .

. . . so I can't say whether they're the exact same bullet found in the "M193" load.  The bullets I pulled averaged 54.9 grains.  Maybe mcantu will pull one of his bullets for comparison.

I think I had a TIA and we're actually talking about different ammunition than what mcantu tested.

"Is it 55 grain or 56 like the box says?"

Like the man asked -- and how can it be 5.56 if the bullet is 56 grains?

You mean like the 5.56mm 62gr, 64gr, 75gr and 77grOTM ammo is. Because diameter is diameter, that's why. You could make a 150gr 5.56 bullet if you want. It wouldn't stabilize worth a shit but you could do it.

Edited: Because I forgot I wasn't in GD. My bad.

No gel tests that I know of for this ammo.
