[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Is it me, or did 9mm get more expensive after the 1st of the year.

I swear I do everything backwards. I've been carrying a .38 for like 3 years now I'm switching to 9 for my carry gun. I have other 9's and had some ammo on hand, but I swear I'm not seeing anything below 13.99 for a box of 50 for even just range ammo..... And availability isn't as good. Everyone hopping on the 9mm train now......

Or am I missing something?

Well it's not like 10 years ago, but lately I see lots of ammo (range FMJ) that is in the 19 - 22 cpr range. Look at 9mm Ammospy.net for some examples

9mm is cheaper now than it was in early to mid 2015.

Most of the 9mm and 5.56 that I use went up 10-15% during the lead up to Obama's executive order announcement in Dec and has stayed there

Nope, still cheap. Around $200/1000 for 9mm and $300/100 for 5.56 is fairly common.

You understand that's the aluminum cased "blazer" version by Federal right?

No. I didn't buy it though. It still seemed kind of high. I'm not sure I'm totally against running some steel at times. Maybe not all the time......
