I try to collect any odd rounds of I can find them. I know it's not good to fire this, but it would be cool to own.

Has anyone ever done velocity tests with this ?

I have reference rounds from the very first lot of M193 from Twin City and Lake City Arsenals

No proof rounds though

Boxes of XM197/M197 HIGH PRESSURE TEST cartridges can be found but these cartridges are not something you should just load up & fire. The boxes are labeled with multiple warnings on this. H. P. TEST cartridges are designed to be remotely fired with the firearm placed in a metal enclosure to contain any failure of the bolt/barrel/receiver/H.P. TEST cartridge.
