if it doesn't say m193 it's not nato specs right? Meaning its 223 not 556 amongst other slight differences?

M193 was never adopted by NATO, so there is no NATO spec for M193.

5.56 is generally loaded hotter (higher pressures) than .223, if that is what you mean.

ETA: higher pressure does not necessarily mean better ammo.

Prvi labels their 5.56 as 5.56 and the 223 as 223
Should be no confusion....their 55g is also labelled as m193 in brackets

this

if you can open a box, the head stamp will say 5.56 or .223. I just sorted a few hundred PRVI cases and all had wither 5.56 or .223.

Is m193 of any specs then?
What is the most common nato 556 then m855?

Wat? There's specs from the US Military.

Yes, M193 has specifications from the U.S. military - the round was just never adopted by use by NATO .

You can review the Military Specifications by referencing MIL-C-9963 Rev. F
or TM 43-0001-27 for all small caliber ammunition

You would probably find the answers you want by reading through the FAQ tacked at the top of the forum.
Specifically, the Ammo Oracle will probably tell you more than you want to know about .223 vs. 5.56, M193 vs. M855

Do you know why the prvi website only shows 223 with no mention of 556?

Are you talking about the blue box or the white box Prvi?

The blue box is a little funky as the package says both .223 and 5.56. (it is also fairly hot for .223)
